Milestones
Our milestone journey began in 1987, when our founder Mr. Krishan Mittal started Tulip Elastics in Noida with just a few narrow weaving machines and a clear vision – to build a dependable Indian manufacturer of elastics and narrow woven fabrics. Over the next three decades, Tulip grew step by step, supplying elastics, tapes and webbing to leading brands in garments, footwear, medical and industrial applications in India and overseas. Every new client, every additional loom and every quality certification became a milestone on our path from a small family unit to a respected global supplier.
After years of mastering threads and webbing, the second generation saw a bigger purpose: using the same strength of material to protect people working at height. Out of this realisation, the I SSAFE brand was born. Instead of only supplying webbing, we started designing and manufacturing complete fall protection systems – full body safety harnesses, lanyards with energy absorbers, horizontal lifelines, retractable blocks, tripods, winches and rescue equipment. This shift from components to finished fall protection PPE marked a turning point in our milestones as a company.
Another important milestone was our focus on compliance and testing. We invested in in-house checks, external laboratories and international audits so that our products could meet or exceed EN, ANSI and ISI / BIS standards. Each approval added more confidence for us and for our customers. Today, I SSAFE is recognised as an emerging safety harness manufacturer in India, offering OEM and private-label solutions for distributors, brands, EPC contractors and industrial users who need reliable systems that can stand up to real-life working conditions, not just lab tests.
Over time, we realised that true safety is not only about passing a test; it is also about comfort, fit and confidence. Our team began developing ergonomic safety harnesses with softer webbing, wider straps, better padding and user-friendly hardware to reduce pressure on shoulders, thighs and the lower back. Adding more sizes, gender-friendly fits and customised colours has become another key milestone in serving workers in construction, wind energy, solar, ports, oil and gas and infrastructure projects across India and abroad.

From our first elastic order to our latest projects in fall protection and fire safety products, one thing has never changed – our commitment to protect the “unseen heroes” who work at height.
